As StrideTech Medical pursues a $1 million equity crowdfunding campaign, we are aware that over the next several months we will be adding over 1,000 investors to our team. This is an incredible opportunity to build a community of brand ambassadors; people who believe in the product, our team, and want to see our product helping older adults reclaim their independence and mobility. As we welcome each new investor, we would like to take a moment to introduce ourselves.

Humsini Acharya, Chief Research Officer and Co-Founder

Humsini holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Neuroscience from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Throughout her time doing research at CU’s Neuromechanics Laboratory, Humsini saw many research based solutions for posture and gait problems in older adults. These solutions, while incredibly technically detailed, were often stuck in the lab. They were built by researchers for researchers, and often lacked the basic user usability and design to be commercially viable. After hearing Tim’s idea for StrideTech Go, Humsini saw the opportunity to finally bridge the gap between business and research and take research-backed technology into the real world. This is now her primary responsibility on the team, she is in charge of ensuring that StrideTech Go is actually improving mobility for older adults from a clinical and scientific perspective. Stay tuned to see some of the data she has been collecting!

Timothy Visos-Ely, Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder
Timothy Visos-Ely, Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder

Many have heard Tim’s story about his Grandma Chris, who was key in inspiring him to start StrideTech Medical. Along with his personal drive to solve this problem, Tim has always had an interest in startups and loves to invent products. His freshman year of college he co-founded a student led design studio called Design for America. By his sophomore year he was managing multiple projects with 15+ students, taking on clients and bringing them solutions, all while getting a degree in Engineering Management and Mechanical Engineering. When the idea behind StrideTech Medical began, he took it through every single engineering and business class that he could, talking to his professors about the idea and utilizing the development of the product as a way to earn college credits. When he and his co-founders were in their last year of college, they competed in the New Venture Challenge. This is a business pitch competition for companies with CU affiliated founders. Competing against 400+ companies, they came out on top and won $100k to launch StrideTech Medical after graduation. Tim is the company's Chief Product Officer because of his passion for inventing products that solve real problems.

Andrew Plum, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder
Andrew Plum, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder

Although each of the founders come from an engineering background, Andrew can be described as the one true nerd. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder, but has become kind of a jack of all engineering trades since co-founding StrideTech Medical from plastic enclosure design to printed circuit board layout to embedded software development.  He has experience building complicated robotics and electromechanical systems as a part of a previous startup venture. As Chief Technology Officer, Andrew has been able to build the proof-of-concept prototypes and take these into a scalable product. He also oversees the development of intellectual property and was able to secure a patent for StrideTech Go on March 15, 2022.

George Douaire, Chief Executive Officer
George Douaire, Chief Executive Officer

The founding team knew that with their strong technical backgrounds, they would need someone with equally strong business acumen to manage the company. Someone who possesses decades of experience in marketing, sales, finance, operations and strategy. Someone who has launched, developed and nurtured growth in startups and established businesses. George Douaire fits this description perfectly. George joined StrideTech as the CEO in September of 2020.  George enjoys the thrill of a startup, the long grind to build the team and operations and sharing with others what he has learned, and continues to learn, every day.

George’s passion for business is matched by his desire to help others.  He has seen the effects of failing health in his loved ones. Like Tim’s experience with his Grandma, George has seen the loss of independence with his mother, and witnessed the impact on his family. “If we are able to help just one family mitigate the experience my family went through, then the time, sweat and effort will be worth it.  And I believe StrideTech can help hundreds of thousands of families.”

George has successfully raised a pre-seed fundraising round and managed the operations of the business to allow the founders to execute on developing the product. Going right from a successful pre-seed round, George arranged the current equity crowdfunding campaign with StartEngine, which has raised over $35k in seven days.
